Twanna A. Hines, M.S. is an award-winning sexual health educator, healthy relationships advocate, and entrepreneur. She has appeared on CNN, NPR, Sirius, CBC (Canadian National Radio), Paris Première (French Television) and in documentary films. She has written for many magazines and newspapers, including The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Time Out, Mashable, Fast Company andThe Huffington Post. She has been interviewed by outlets from coast to coast, from the San Francisco Chronicle to The New York Times.

Twanna has been called a gifted storyteller by The Washington Post. She speaks at colleges, conferences, nonprofits and other events, including 92Y Tribeca, South by Southwest (SXSW), MoCADA, Museum of Sex, and Create Good. Harvard University, Wellesley College, Northwestern University, and others have brought her to their students to talk about respect and communication.

From the bedroom to the boardroom, Twanna is a fierce advocate for healthy interpersonal relationships. She is Chief Relationships Expert at FUNKY BROWN CHICK, Inc., a creative social enterprise that produces artistic projects to spread sexual and reproductive health education through storytelling and the arts.

Having lived in New York City, London, Chicago, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, The Hague, and Washington, D.C., she is fluent in Dutch and English.

SEX, SECURITY, AND SAFETY: SHAPE YOUR POLICIES, SHAPE THE WORLD

As intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and exploitation are on the rise during COVID-19, many children and adults are trapped at home with their abusers. Twanna helps police departments, municipalities, and other groups counter spikes in domestic violence and child sexual abuse. As an award-winning sexual health educator, for the past 15 years, she has been actively building a world with less sexual violence.
